Promoting Coexistence Between Communities and Carnivores

The LRF provided Dr Moreangels Mbizah with a grant to purchase a vehicle for her field work. Morengels’s work revolves around tackling human-lion conflict in the communal lands adjacent to Matusadona NP and other protected areas in northern Zimbabwe. Her work involves responding to conflict incidents, reinforcing livestock corrals, working with communities to improve livestock husbandry and monitoring lions to allow for early warning when they approach livestock corrals. This work is critical at promoting coexistence and reducing retaliatory killing of lions and other predators.
